Men's Track and Field Wraps Up Season at New England Championships

WORCESTER, Mass. (May 11, 2024) – The Stonehill men's track and field team competed in its final meet of the 2023-24 season with the conclusion of New England (NEICAAA) Outdoor Championships at the Hart Field and Track on the campus of the Holy Cross on Saturday.

Student-athletes had to rank in the top 32 of all New England competitors across Divisions I, II, and III in track events and the top 24 in field events to qualify for New England Championships.

FIELD EVENTS

  • Junior Parker Hagen (Newport, R.I.) competed in the triple jump finals, leaping 14.16m (46' 5.5") to come in fifth place.

TRACK EVENTS

  • Freshman Brendan Wilder (Waltham, Mass.) came in seventh place out of 32 runners in the 1500-meter final, crossing the finish line in 3:54.26.
  • Placing 22nd in the 1500m final was freshman Nicholas Davies (Auckland, New Zealand) who clocked in at 4:00.30.
  • In the 4x100-meter relay race, sophomore Patrick Morin (Barnstable, Mass.), freshman Jon Dougherty (Reading, Mass.), junior Zachary Ofurum (Brockton, Mass.), and junior Shea Drugan (Westfield, Mass.) finished the race in 42.30 seconds, placing fifth.

  • The Skyhawks concluded their outdoor season as they cap off the 2023-24 campaign with their sights set on 2024-25, the third installment of Stonehill track and field at the division I level.
