EASTON, Mass. (January 30, 2024) – Junior Jacob Pacheco (Merrimack, N.H.) was named Field Athlete of the Week by the Northeast Conference Tuesday afternoon after Stonehill men's track and field competed in the Riverhawk Invitational at the TRACK at New Balance in Boston, Mass. this past weekend.

RESULTS NEC RANKINGS

Pacheco set a personal best mark in the pole vault, reaching 4.65m to finish sixth out of 34 people while tying the second-best mark in the conference. Wagner's Jacob Lane also reached 4.65m in the pole vault this weekend as the Seahawks competed at the John Thomas Terrier Classic hosted by Boston University.

The duo of Pacheco and Lane were named Co-Field Athlete of the Week, now only trailing Lane's teammate, Julio Martinez, who currently sits atop the NEC leaderboard in the pole vault with a mark of 4.71m.

Pacheco's 4.65m vault is the highest for any Skyhawk since transitioning to the Division I level before the 2022-23 season and the best since Anthony Innamorati reached the same mark at the BU Track and Tennis Center nearly five years ago on Feb. 25, 2018.

Stonehill track and field returns to action this weekend when both the men and women travel to the BU Track and Tennis Center in Boston, Mass. for the Bruce Lehane Scarlet and White Invitational on Saturday. The meet will be streamed live on FloSports and tickets are available for purchase at https://am.ticketmaster.com/agganis/track.
