EASTON, Mass. (September 28, 2015) – The Stonehill College field hockey program has swept the weekly honors from the Northeast-10 Conference, the league announced today.
Senior All-American Erika Kelly (Watertown, Massachusetts/Watertown) earned Player of the Week honors for the second time this season (seventh career), while classmate Lauren Dymek (Hadley, Massachusetts/Hopkins Academy) was named the NE-10's Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in her career. Freshman Sara Freedman (Hopkinton, Massachusetts/Hopkinton) capped the award winner by being named the Conference's Goalkeeper and Rookie of the Week for the first time. It marks the third straight week Stonehill has had the NE-10's Rookie of the Week after classmate Kacie Smith (Norwood, Massachusetts/Norwood) earned the honors back to back weeks on September 14 and 21.
Kelly had a hand in five of Stonehill's seven goals in a 3-0 week, which included a pair of wins over nationally-ranked opponents. She finished with four goals and an assist for nine points for the week, potting one game winning goal. Kelly had a role in all three Skyhawk goals in Wednesday's 3-0 triumph over Adelphi University with two goals and an assist. She followed that up by scoring the opening goal in Saturday's 3-2 win over No. 6 Limestone College and then capped the week by netting the lone goal in a 1-0 win at 8th-ranked LIU Post on Sunday.

Kelly leads the Northeast-10 in all three scoring categories through eight games with nine goals and six assists for 24 points – leading the Conference by ten points. She leads all of Division II in assists per game (0.75), while ranking second nationally for goals per game (1.13) and points per game (3.00). She has collected at least a point in nine straight games dating back to last season and has scored at least a goal in four straight games and in six of eight contests so far this season.
Kelly, Stonehill's all-time leader for career goals and points, ranks third all-time in NE-10 history with her 80 career goals – good for sixth all-time in Division II history, while her 176 career points are good for fourth in NE-10 history and tenth on the Division II all-time list. The two-time first team All-American has dished out 16 assists in 68 career games played – two assists shy of cracking the program's career top ten. The reigning Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) North Region Player of the Year has scored 16 career game winning goals, including a program-record ten her sophomore season when she led Division II with a program and Northeast-10 record 38 goals to go with two assists for a program and NE-10 record matching 78 points.
Dymek earns Defensive Player of the Week honors for the first time in her career after spearheading a Stonehill defensive unit which posted a pair of shutouts over its three victories last week. The Skyhawks defense limited their three opponents to just 5.7 shots on goal and nine penalty corners per game, while posting a 0.67 team goals against average.

Dymek has started all eight games for Stonehill this fall for a defensive unit which has posted a 2.13 team goals against average with three shutouts. The Skyhawks are limiting opponents to 6.1 shots and 10.5 corners per game. Dymek has also notched one defensive save so far this year.
Dymek has appeared in 37 games over her four year career at Stonehill and has been named to the Northeast-10 Conference's Commissioner's Honor Roll two semesters and the Stonehill Athletic Director's Honor Roll once.
Freedman helped lead Stonehill to the three wins by posting the first two shutouts of her collegiate career, recording a 0.67 goals against average and .882 save percentage for the week. She notched her first career shutout with four saves in Wednesday's 3-0 win over Adelphi. Freedman added eight stops in Saturday's 3-2 win over 6th-ranked Limestone and then capped the week with three saves in a 1-0 shutout triumph over No. 8 LIU Post.
Freedman has emerged as Stonehill's primary goalkeeper in her freshman season, having started six of the eight games she has played. She ranks third among NE-10 leaders with her .800 save percentage, sharing the NE-10 lead with her two shutouts to go with a 1.72 GAA and 5.5 saves per game in 447:08 over eight games played.
Stonehill (5-3, 3-0 NE-10), winners of four straight and five of six, is back in action tomorrow night when it visits Southern New Hampshire University for a Northeast-10 matchup at 7 p.m. The Skyhawks return home on Saturday to host Assumption College for a Conference clash at noon.
