BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (September 27, 2015) – Stonehill College finished off a weekend sweep of nationally-ranked opponents to cap a 3-0 week with a 1-0 victory over LIU Post, ranked No. 5 in this week's Penn Monto/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division II poll, in Northeast-10 Conference field hockey action at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium today.

Freshman goaltender Sara Freedman (Hopkinton, Massachusetts/Hopkinton) made three saves to preserve her second shutout of the season (both this week) to key Stonehill's second win over a nationally-ranked opponent of the weekend. LIU Post held an 11-9 advantage in shots for the contest, but placed just three on target, posting an 11-10 edge in penalty corners. Junior Erika Parks (Nesconset, New York/Smithtown East) finished with six stops in the Pioneers cage.

Senior All-American Erika Kelly (Watertown, Massachusetts/Watertown) scored the lone goal of the contest when she drove home a penalty corner by junior Sarah Morse (Westminster, Massachusetts/Oakmont Regional), which was stopped and passed by senior Maggie Travers (Scituate, Massachusetts/Scituate) 15:16 into the game. The goal is Kelly's Northeast-10 leading ninth of the season to go with a league-high six assists for a league-best 24 points. She now ranks sixth in NCAA Division II history with her 80 career goals and is just three points shy of cracking the career top ten list for scoring with 176 points. Kelly also ranks third all-time in NE-10 history for career goals and is tied for fourth in points.
