Four Represent Stonehill Track and Field At Day One Of New England Outdoor Track and Field Championships

DEDHAM, Mass. (May 12)- The Stonehill College men's outdoor track and field team saw four Skyhawks compete in the first day of the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Highlights

  • In the 5,000-meter, Colin Black and Patrick Garratt both partook in the event and each notched top 25 finishes. Black led the way in the event with a 16th place finish at 14:58.27 and a few spots behind was Garratt at 22nd when he crossed the finsih line at 15:09.23. Garratt's time in Friday's race marked a new personal-record for the junior runner.
  • Cody DeAngelo and Jacob Pacheco each represented the squad in both the pole vault and javelin respectively. In the pole vault, DeAngelo grabbed a spot within the top 15 (15th) with leap at 4.45 meters (14' 07.25"). DeAngelo's finish put him ahead of student-athletes from other Division I schools including Dartmouth and UMass Lowell. Meanwhile, in the javelin, Pacheco had a toss of 52.55 meters (172' 05") for 18th place which was in front of student-athletes from Division I schools such as Vermont and Merrimack.
