LOWELL, Mass. (March 24, 2023) – The Stonehill College women's 2023 outdoor track and field started today at the UMass Lowell Spring Invitational at the Cushing Field Complex in Lowell, Massachusetts. The team made their mark in today's competition, competing against various schools, including the University of Hartford, Merrimack College, the University of Vermont, and the University of New Hampshire.

Highlights

• Coming out strong in the first outdoor competition, Junior Kaytlin Encarnacao (Reading, Mass. / Reading Memorial) ran in the 400m run, placing first in under a minute with a time of 59.53.
• Freshman Emily Young (Newton, Mass. / Beverly) stepped on the track and ran a top time of 10:29.97 in the 3000m run, placing second overall.
• In the women's long jump event, freshman Kaia Eder (Moorestown, N.J. / Delran) took to the line, jumping a distance of 5.40m and a third-place finish. Eder also competed in the triple jump event, where she placed fourth overall with a distance of 11.46m.
• In the 400m hurdles, sophomore Madison Rousseau (Canton, Mass. / Canton) took to the start and finished in third place with a time of 1:06.83.
• Sophomore Soraya Masse (Milford, N.H. / Brockton) made strides at the invitational, placing fourth In the 100m dash with a time of 13.00. Masse also ran in the 200m dash, placing 14^th with a time of 27.56.
• Madison Gunderway competed in the hammer throw event, where she finished in fourth place with a distance of 45.54.
• Also competing in the 400m hurdles, freshman Grace Tyrrell (Cavendish, Vt. / Green Mountain Union) placed fifth with a time of 1:10.55.
• Sophomore Emma Lawrence (Milford, Mass. / Milford) returned to the outdoor track, racing in the 1500m run, placing fifth overall with a time of 4:53.44.

• In the pole vault event, senior Haley Lightbody (Reading, Mass. / Reading) finished in sixth place with a height of 3.10m.
• In the 100m hurdle event, junior Cassidy Becker (North Attleboro, Mass. / North Attleboro) stepped in the blocks, finishing in 16.23 with a seventh-place finish.
• Senior Thrower Kaley Enright (Groveland, Mass. / Pentucket Regional) competed in the shot put event, hitting 11.32m with an eighth-place finish.
• Freshman Sydney Cahill (Reading, Mass. / Reading Memorial) finished in 10^th place in the long jump event with a distance of 5.03m.
• Also competing in the 100m dash, freshman Leah Baxter (Petersham, Mass. / Quabbin Regional High School) competed and placed ninth overall with a time of 13.51. Baxter also ran I the 200m dash, placing 15^th with a time of 27.64.
• Senior Victoria Lombardi (Peabody, Mass / Peabody Veterans Memorial) competed in the 3000m run, placing 14^th with a time of 10:49.07.
