STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (February 21, 2023)- At yesterday's finale of the  Northeast Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship, Solomon King was named a Most Outstanding Co-Track Performer for his efforts in both the 60-meter and 200-meter sprints. Cory Couture of Merrimack College was named the other performer along with King.

On the opening day of the championship on Sunday, King qualified for both the 60-meter and 200-meter finales on Monday. In the 60-meter dash, he took fourth place with a time of 6.98 seconds and at the time was the third time this indoor season he posted a sub-seven second time. Meanwhile, in the 200-meter dash, King also grabbed fourth place and finished with a time of 21.91.

In Monday's finals for both races, King narrowly grabbed the top spot in the 200-meter with a blistering time of 21.44 seconds and in the 60-meter dash, he crossed the finish line in 6.94 seconds (fourth place). The 21.44 seconds were just .01 seconds off his school record in the 200-meter dash which he had set earlier this season at the New England Indoor Track and Field Championships on February 3.

Stonehill concluded their indoor portion of the schedule and will have some much deserved time off before outdoor season starts up in April. The Skyhawks first outdoor meet comes on Saturday, April 1 at UMass Lowell.
