Men's Indoor Track and Field Concludes Day One At NEICAAA Indoor Championships

BOSTON, Mass (February 2, 2023)- The Stonehill College men's indoor track and field team saw multiple Skyhawks compete on the first day of the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association Indoor Track and Field Championship.

Highlights

  • Solomon King ended up qualifying for the 200-meter dash finals on Friday with his third-place finish in the preliminaries with a time of 21.80 seconds. His time not only is a personal record but is also a top-three time in the Northeast Conference (third).
  • In the pole vault, Jacob Pacheco was the squad's other top-five finisher when he came in fourth with a leap of 4.50 meters (14' 9"). His mark is also a top-three time in the NEC (third).
  • Stonehill's distance medley relay team consisting of Jace HollenbachJohn PaulhamusConnor Hughes, and Colin Black notched a ninth-place finish at 10:24.07 which is good for second in the conference. 

Other Performances

  • Despite missing out by one spot in the 200-meter preliminaries, Shea Drugan had a solid performance for the Purple and White as he posted a new career-best time of 22.08 seconds (ninth place). Drugan's time also is a top-10 fastest time in the NEC (seventh place).
  • Aidan Byrne notched a new career-best in the 5,000-meter with a time of 15:26.69 for an 11th-place finish.
  • In the 500-meter dash preliminaries, Andrew Morin crossed the finish line in 18th place at 1:09.47.
