EASTON, Mass. (March 7, 2022)- For the first time this season and the first time in her career, Stonehill College junior middle infielder Courtney Brochu was named the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week the league office announced earlier today. 

Last weekend, Brochu had a strong week for the Skyhawks after posting a .625 batting average (5-8), a .725 slugging percentage, and she drove in two runs as well. In each game, last weekend Brochu recorded at least one hit, and in two out of the three games, she drove in at least one run. 

Her best game of the weekend came against Chestnut Hill College which resulted in a 9-1 Stonehill win. In that game, Brochu went 3-4 which included a double and also two RBIs as well. 

Currently, in the NE10, Brochu is ranked in the top-three in multiple offensive categories that include: batting average (first), slugging percentage (third), and on-base percentage (second, .625). 

Stonehill has a day off before resuming action again on Tuesday, March 8 in a double-header versus Bemidji State University at 2:45 p.m. and Salem (W.V.) University at 5 p.m. Wednesday is another double-header for the Skyhawks taking on University of the Sciences in Philadelphia at 12:15 p.m. and Walsh University (Ohio) at 2:30 p.m. On Friday, Stonehill has a double-header against Mercyhurst College at 10:15 a.m. and Felician College at 12:30 p.m. Finally, the purple and white wrap up their Florida trip with one more double-header on Saturday against Slippery Rock (Pa.) University at 9 a.m. and then the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown at 11:15 a.m.
