Thompson Named Northeast-10 Libero of the Week

Senior averaged 5.71 digs per game in 3-0 week for Skyhawks

EASTON, Mass. (October 13, 2010) – Stonehill College senior volleyball player Justine Thompson (Merrimack, N.H./Bishop Guertin) was named the Northeast-10 Conference Libero of the Week by the Conference office for the week of October 3-10. The nomination is the first of her career.

Thompson averaged 5.71 digs per game in a 3-0 week for Stonehill, leading the defensive effort as the Skyhawks claimed victories over three NE-10 opponents. In her best performance of the week, Thompson collected a season-high 30 digs in just three sets as Stonehill swept Saint Michael's College on Saturday. She also recorded 10 digs in a 3-1 win over UMass Lowell, and chipped in four service aces during the week.

Thompson currently ranks second in the NE-10 in digs, with a total of 189 for an average of 5.11 digs per game.

Stonehill (8-8, 6-1 NE-10) next visits Pace University on October 15 at 6 p.m.
