NE10 Announces 2021 Women's Tennis Schedules

EASTON, Massachusetts (March 2, 2021) – Stonehill College in conjunction with the Northeast-10 Conference, announced its 2021 women's tennis schedule. It marks the fifth in a series of spring schedule announcements by the Conference over the last week after the 2021 Stonehill baseball, softball and women's lacrosse schedules were released last week.

Stonehill, which last competed in the fall of 2019, will play a ten-game NE10 schedule this spring, beginning by hosting American International College on Sunday, March, 14. Match times for all Skyhawks home events are to be announced in the coming days. Stonehill will host five dual matches this spring against AIC (March 14), Saint Michael's College (March 21), Adelphi University (March 28), Saint Anselm College (April 11) and Assumption University (April 14). The Skyhawks will also play five road matches at Franklin Pierce University (March 17), University of New Haven (March 24), Bentley University (March 31), Southern New Hampshire University (April 7) and Le Moyne College (April 18). The NE10 Tournament dates and format are yet to be announced.

All dates and times are subject to change by weather and COVID-19 health and safety protocols. All teams will be subject to follow NE10 COVID-19 testing protocols, in addition to health and safety guidelines from their institutions and local communities. The safety and well-being of student-athletes and the Stonehill community remains the primary focus of the College and NE10.

Stonehill last competed on Sunday, October 27, when it posted a 5-1 victory over Le Moyne in the NE10 Championship at The Weymouth Club, to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament last spring, which was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Skyhawks March 14 opener with AIC is slated to be its first home match since October 23, 2019, when they topped New Haven, 4-0 in the first round of the NE10 Tournament. It would also mark the College's first home athletic event since hosting the NE10 Women's Basketball Championship at Merkert Gymnasium, an 80-61 Stonehill win over Saint Anselm, on Sunday, March 8, 2020.

Attendance policies will be determined individually by NE10 institutions and announced soon.

Stonehill finished its abbreviated 2019-20 season with a 12-3 record overall, including 9-1 in the NE10 to clinch a share of its tenth NE10 regular season championship, before going on to claim its second-straight tournament crown and seventh in program history overall with the 5-1 win over Le Moyne. The Skyhawks were set to earn their 14th NCAA Tournament bid when the COVID-19 pandemic ended the athletic season in mid-March. The Skyhawks will also take the court this spring for the first time under head coach Lynne Smith, who replaced Pam Arpè in February 2020.
