Vetter Selected to IWLCA Senior All-Star Game

Great River, New York, senior midfielder to represent Stonehill on Division II North Squad on Saturday in Maryland

2017 IWLCA Senior All-Star Teams Announced

EASTON, Mass. (May 30, 2017) – Stonehill College senior midfielder Elizabeth Vetter (Great River, New York/East Islip) has been selected to participate in the 2017 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association (IWLCA) Division II Senior All-Star Game this weekend.

Vetter has been named a member of the Division II North Squad, which will face the Division II South All-Stars, on Saturday, June 3, at the US Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Maryland. The game will be played, along with All-Star Games for Division I and III, at Tierney Field at 12:45 p.m. Admission to the three All-Star Games is free of charge and they will be streamed live via iwlca-tv.com.

Vetter started all 19 games for Stonehill this spring and led the Skyhawks in scoring with 40 points, netting a team-high 37 goals to go with three assists, while collecting a team-high 48 draw controls and adding 35 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers. She netted a season-high four goals in four games, including Stonehill's 18-9 win over No. 11/16 Pace University on April 28, to clinch home field advantage for the NE10 Tournament. Vetter totaled a season-best five points with four goals and an assist in a 15-5 win at Southern Connecticut State University on March 25 and contributed at least a point in all but three games.

Vetter, a two-time All-Northeast-10 Conference and IWLCA All-North Region selection over her career, started 58 of 74 games over her career and finished with 120 goals and 15 assists for 135 points, while collecting 203 draw controls, 117 ground balls and 45 caused turnovers. She earned NE10 All-Rookie status as a freshman and was selected to the NE10 Academic All-Conference team her junior year. Vetter recently graduated with a mathematics degree at the College, where she was a member of the Lambda Epsilon Sigma, Omicron Delta Epsilon and Kappa Mu Epsilon honor societies. She was named to the NE10 Commissioner's Honor Roll and Athletic Director's Honor Roll every semester at the College.

Stonehill, ranked 16th in the final IWLCA Division II poll and 20th in the final Nike/US Lacrosse Magazine Division II poll, wrapped up its season with a 12-7 record overall, including a 10-3 mark in the NE10. The Skyhawks reached the semifinal round of the NE10 Tournament for the 18th time in 19 years and are the lone program to appear in every NE10 women's lacrosse tournament.
