Women’s Golf Finishes Off 13th Place Finish at Music City Invitational

MURFREESBORO, Tennessee (October 19, 2021) - Stonehill College turned in a 13th place team finish while competing at the Music City Invitational, hosted by Trevecca Nazarene University, on the 5,972-yard, par-72 layout at Old Fort Golf Club today.

    Stonehill followed up its season-best team score of 326 on Monday with a score of 327 on Tuesday to finish the two-day event at 653 strokes, well ahead of fellow Northeast-10 Conference member Le Moyne College (342-340=682) in 14th.
  • Christian Brothers University finished off the team title with a two-day score of 605 (300-305), besting second place Montevallo University (305-305=610) by five shots. The top four spots on the team leaderboard were separated by just seven strokes.
  • Franklin Pierce University's Kesinee Prukmuthakul closed out individual medalist honors for the Invitational by following up her six-under-par 66 on Monday with an even par 72 today to win by five shots over Malone University's Christina Williams who posted the low round of the day on Tuesday with a one-under-par 71 after shooting an even par 72 on Monday.
  • Senior captain Sloane Van Zanen led the way for Stonehill on Tuesday by matching her career-best score of 77 for the third time this fall, which coupled with her Monday 81, placed her tied for 33rd overall with a score of 158 after making one of the largest moves up the leaderboard in the field on Tuesday as she climbed 19 spots. Van Zanen birdied the 367-yard, par 4, first hole and then added 11 pars while avoiding anything worse than a bogey for the day.
  • Van Zanen was joined in 33rd by junior Julia Dapron who added a second round 81 to her career-low round of 77 on Monday for a two-day score of 158. She posted a birdie on the 312-yard, par 4, fourth hole, while also avoiding anything greater than bogey and adding seven pars.
