Women's Golf Finishes Fourth at NE10 Championship

Van Zanen Skyhawks Top Finisher in 12th overall after two-day score of 163

CONCORD, N.H. (October 10, 2021) – Stonehill College wrapped up the 2021 Northeast-10 Conference Women's Golf Championship in fourth place in the team standings with a two-day score of 674 on the 5,807-yard, par-72 layout at Beaver Meadow Golf Club today.

The Details

  • Stonehill improved its team score by two strokes from its Saturday score of 338 with a 336 on Sunday, but was unable to move up the standings on the second day.
  • Franklin Pierce took its third-straight team title, and fourth overall, with a record score of 616, following yesterday's 314 with a 302 team score today. Le Moyne College (333-334=667) finished a distant second, followed by Assumption University (337-334=671) in third, Stonehill fourth, Adelphi University (348-348=696) fifth and The College of Saint Rose (359-377=736) in sixth.
  • Franklin Pierce was led by individual medalist Kesinee Prukmuthakul, who fired a four-under-par round of 68 to move to the top of the leaderboard after carding a 78 on Saturday, finishing with a two-over-part score of 146 over the two days.
  • Senior captain Sloane Van Zanen is Stonehill's top individual finisher with a two-day score of 163, following up her career-low matching round of 77 on Saturday, with an 86 today. She had nine pars in her round today.
  • Junior Julia Dapron shaved one stroke off her Saturday round of 84, with an 83 today to finish tied for 16th overall at 167. She posted ten pars and just one double bogey or worse in her round today.
  • Junior Emily Kase recorded Stonehill's low round of the day, carding two birdies on her way to a second round 82 to move up six spots and finish tied for 21st overall with a two-day score of 172. Kase birdied the 154-yard, par 3 third and 371-yard, par 4 15th hole.
  • Senior Emma Beaulieu also finished tied for 21st overall, finishing with an 85 today after an 87 on Saturday for a two-day score of 172. Freshman Mollie Thomas finished at 177 (90-87) for 25th in the field.
