EASTON, Mass. (October 14, 2014) – Stonehill College freshman Nikolay Lisichenok (Danvers, Massachusetts/Danvers) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week for men's tennis by the league office this afternoon.

Lisichenok posted a combined 3-2 record in singles and doubles play in Stonehill's two events last week. He was a double-winner in the Skyhawks 8-1 non-conference win over Clark University in their final dual match of the season on Wednesday. Lisichenok and classmate Thomas Bellio (Saint Joseph, Michigan/Saint Joseph), who earned NE-10 Rookie of the Week honors the last two weeks, combined for an 8-3 win at No. 2 doubles before Lisichenok battled back for a 5-7, 6-2, 10-5 victory at No. 5 singles against Joel Simonson. Lisichenok closed out the week by adding a 6-3, 6-1 singles win against Jon Sokolsky from Connecticut College at the Bryant University Invitational on Sunday.

Lisichenok has posted a combined 20-3 record in singles and doubles play through the fall season of his freshman year. He is 8-3 in singles play for Stonehill, winning all four matches in dual match play, including a 2-0 mark in the NE-10, to go with a 12-0 doubles mark with two different playing partners. Lisichenok and Bellio have teamed up to post an 8-0 mark, winning the B-Doubles draw of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II East Regional in New York in September. The duo is 4-0 in dual match play, including a 2-0 record in the NE-10. Lisichenok also advanced to quarterfinals of the B-Singles draw at the ITA Regionals.
