EASTON, Mass. (October 26, 2021) – Stonehill College junior Andrew Hammersley has earned Northeast-10 Conference Goalkeeper of the Week honors for the first time in his career, the league office announced.

Hammersley, who collected NE10 Rookie of the Week honors once as a freshman, earns NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week accolades for the first time for his efforts in a 1-1 week, including a 1-0 shutout of Franklin Pierce University, ranked No. 1 in the United Soccer Coaches Division II poll, on Saturday. He averaged 4.5 saves per game, posting a 0.95 goals against average and .818 save percentage over Stonehill's two matches last week. Hammersley made five saves in posting the clean sheet in Saturday's 1-0 double-overtime triumph against previously undefeated and No. 1-ranked Franklin Pierce. He also logged four stops at The College of Saint Rose on Tuesday.

Hammersley has played all but roughly 125-minutes in the Stonehill goal this season, posting a 1.60 goals against average and .788 save percentage in 1,183:10 over his 13 starts with two shutouts. He is averaging an NE10-high 6.0 saves per match this season, while ranking fourth in save percentage and third in minutes played. Hammersley recorded a career-high 12 saves at Assumption University on September 18 and then added 11 more in a 1-0 overtime setback at Adelphi University on October 9. In all, he has secured five-plus saves in nine matches, including five in a 0-0 double-overtime draw at the University of New Haven on October 2 for the first shutout of his career.

Hammersley has started 27 of the 28 matches he has played over his Stonehill career, posting a 1.65 goals against average and .803 save percentage, with 183 stops (6.5 per match) and the two clean sheets in 2,451:29 played. He has posted double-digit saves in four matches over his career, with more than five saves in 18 of his 28 career appearances.  

Stonehill (6-7-1, 3-5-1 NE10) is back in action on Wednesday, when it hosts Le Moyne College for an NE10 matchup at Skyhawk Field at 3 p.m.
