How it Happened

  • Freshman Iago Luiz De Sousa-Vieira scored his fifth goal of the season and sophomore Jacob Woznicki netted the first goal of his collegiate career to lead Stonehill to the win to cap the non-conference portion of its schedule.
  • De Sousa-Vieira opened the scoring in the 31st minute when he got on the end of a long pass from the back by senior Luka Gjuraj, slipped past the Felician defense and slotted in a shot from the right side for his team-leading fifth goal over the first five matches of his collegiate career.
  • Woznicki doubled the Stonehill lead just 36-seconds into the second half when he forced a turnover off the opening kickoff in the Felician zone and broke in one-on-one with the keeper for a low shot into the right side for the first goal of his collegiate career.
  • Felician started to get into the match after that and enjoyed more possession in the final 45-minutes, drawing within a goal in the 64th minute as senior Raul Abellan scored his first goal of the season off a cross from the right side by senior Alexandros Avraamides.
  • The two teams combined for 24 shots in the second half after each had five over the opening 45 minutes.
  • Junior Andrew Hammersley protected the Stonehill lead with five of his seven saves in the second half. Senior George Hernandez finished with four stops in the Felician goal.

Noteworthy

  • De Sousa-Vieira has scored five of Stonehill's nine goals through five matches this season and shares the NE10 lead for goals and points.
  • Hammersley has logged six saves of more in three of his four appearances this season and 14 times overall in 19 matches played.
