Agan Earns All-Northeast-10 Honors
Niskayuna, N.Y., native is Stonehill's first All-Conference defender in ten years

EASTON, Mass. (November 19, 2009) - Stonehill College sophomore back Christopher Agan (Niskayuna, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) has earned All-Northeast-10 Conference honors for the first time, as selected by the NE-10's 14 head coaches.
Agan, who was selected to the All-NE-10 third team, is Stonehill's first All-Conference selection since midfielder Joseph Sousa earned third team honors in 2006. He is the first Skyhawk defender to earn the award since Tom Wetzel collected first team honors in 1999.
Agan started all 17 matches and led a Stonehill defensive unit
which shaved a half goal per match off its team goals against
average from a year ago as the Skyhawks posted its best record in
three seasons. The Skyhawks finished the year tenth in the NE-10
with a 1.64 team goals against average (down from 2.14 in 2008) and
ninth in the Conference with three shutouts. Agan also chipped in
with a goal for two points on the season. His lone goal of the year
was the Skyhawks opening goal of the season in a 2-1 victory over
Felician College on August 28.
Over two seasons, Agan has started 29 of the 33 matches he has played and posted two goals and an assist for five points from the Stonehill backline.
Stonehill, which opened the season 4-0-0 for the first time in 21 years, finished the fall with a 7-9-1 record overall, including a 3-9-1 clip in Northeast-10 play. The Skyhawks were in the mix for an NE-10 Tournament spot right up until the final week of the regular season.
