EASTON, Mass. (September 5, 2009) - Stonehill College is perfect through four matches for the first time in 21 years after posting a 2-0 victory over Nyack College in non-conference men's soccer action at Skyhawk Field this afternoon.

Stonehill last won its first four matches of the season under Ernie Branco in 1988. Second year head coach Jim Reddish got goals in each half from senior co-captain Shaun Keeley (Woburn, Mass./Woburn) and classmate Martin Earley (Basel, Switzerland/Hampden (Maine) Academy), while junior Brandon McFarlane (Norwich, Conn./Norwich Free Academy) made two saves to preserve his second shutout of the season (fourth career).

Junior goalkeeper Adrian Ibanez (Toronto, Ontario) finished with six stops for Nyack as Stonehill posted a 14-2 advantage in shots for the match.

Keeley put Stonehill in front 13:16 into the contest with a long run down the left side before chipping a shot over a charging Ibanez for his third goal of the season. Earley doubled the Skyhawks lead 2:15 into the second half when he headed a deflection off a Nyack defender into the goal for his first goal of the year.

Stonehill (4-0-0, 0-0-0 NE-10) returns to action on Wednesday when it visits American International College to open its Northeast-10 Conference schedule at 4 p.m. Please note that the start time of this match has been changed from the schedule released earlier this season. The Skyhawks return home next Saturday to host The College of Saint Rose at 1 p.m. Nyack (1-1-0, 0-0-0 CACC) visits Dowling College on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
