Bryant Tops Women's Tennis, 6-1

Munson and Rondini lead three double-winners for Bulldogs

SMITHFIELD, R.I. (April 13, 2023) – Bryant University posted a 6-1 victory over Stonehill College in a non-conference women's tennis match at Bryant Tennis Courts this afternoon. 

Highlights

  • Junior Olivia Rondini, sophomore Caitlyn Munson and freshman Lisa Marie Dugec were all double-winners to lead Bryant to the win.
  • Sophomore Hannah O'Brien and freshman Lucia Pino earned points for the Bulldogs in singles play.
  • Senior Cristina Solorzano Valencia earned a point for Stonehill with a third set tiebreaker decision over Bryant freshman Natalia Vela at No. 1 singles, 6-4, 2-6, 10-7.

How It Happened

  • Vela and Dugec clinched the doubles point for Bryant with their 6-2 decision at No. 3 doubles after Munson and Rondini combined at No. 2 doubles for a 6-0 victory.
  • Dugec claimed the Bulldogs first singles point with her 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 4 singles against Stonehill senior Lily Peter.
  • O'Brien followed with her 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles for the next Bryant point against sophomore Marissa Such.
  • Pino provided the match-clinching fourth point for the Bulldogs with her 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles against freshman Camila Zuluaga Rodriguez.

Stonehill (5-9, 0-5 NEC) closes out its inaugural NCAA Division I season on Saturday, when it visits former Northeast-10 Conference foe University of New Haven for a non-conference match in West Haven, Connecticut, at 11 a.m. Please note the time change for the match.
