Pioneers get four double-winners in victory 

TRUMBULL, Conn. (February 25, 2023) – Sacred Heart University didn't drop a match in posting a 7-0 victory over Stonehill College in a Northeast Conference women's tennis match at the Tennis Center of Trumbull tonight.

Highlights

  • Junior Katsiaryna Starastsenka and sophomore Aina Garriga led four double-winners for Sacred Heart in posting the NEC win.
  • Senior Ciara O'Toole and junior Flavia Rambaldi were also double-winners for the Pioneers.
  • Sophomores Ana Sofia Angeles Sanchez and Olivia Kharkover notched singles points for Sacred Heart
  • Senior Vitalina Golod and junior Kim Fenton combined to edge Stonehill senior Cristina Solorzano Valencia and freshman Anneliese Beltran 8-6 in a tiebreaker at No. 1 doubles.
  • Senior Lily Peter forced a third set tiebreaker in her match with O'Toole at No. 4 singles, before O'Toole was able to collect a 2-6, 7-5, 10-5 decision.
