Saint Francis Defeats Women's Tennis, 7-0

Six double-winners lead Red Flash to NEC victory

EBENSBURG. Pa. (April 8, 2023) – Saint Francis (Pa.) University closed out its regular season schedule with a 7-0 triumph over Stonehill College in a Northeast Conference dual match at Ebensburg Tennis Center this morning.

Highlights

  • Sophomore Bente Vandeputte and junior Dominique Yeo led six double-winners for Saint Francis in the NEC victory.
  • Vandeputte teamed up with freshman Kelly Dowuona for a 6-4 win at No. 1 doubles to complete a sweep of the three doubles matches.
  • Yeo and junior Valeria Vinces combined for a 6-3 decision at No. 2 doubles that clinched the doubles point for the Red Flash.
  • Vanteputte followed up her win at No. 1 doubles with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles against Stonehill senior Cristina Solorzano Valencia.
  • Yeo added a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles against Stonehill freshman Anneliese Beltran.
  • Dowuona, Vinces joined the double-winners for Saint Francis, as well as junior Nagisa Miyake and freshman Sydney Tamondong.
