Boston College Sweeps Women's Tennis, 7-0

Agar and Edwards lead Eagles to fifth-straight win as double-winners

HANOVER, N.H. (February 4, 2023) – Boston College picked up a sixth-straight win with a 7-0 decision over Stonehill College in non-conference women's tennis action at Boss Tennis Center on the campus of Dartmouth College this afternoon. 

Highlights

  • Junior Sophia Edwards and freshman Seren Agar led a list of six double-winners for Boston College.
  • Edwards started by teaming up with sophomore Stephanie Sanchez for a 6-0 win at No. 2 doubles to lead a sweep of the three doubles matches for the Eagles.
  • Edwards followed that up with a 6-3, 6-0 victory at No. 1 singles against Stonehill senior Cristina Solorzano Valencia.
  • Agar and senior Hailey Wilcox opened with a 6-1 decision at No. 1 doubles, before Agar didn't drop a game in posting a win at No. 2 singles for BC.

Stonehill (4-2, 0-0 NEC) returns to action next Saturday, February 11, when it faces the University of Rhode Island at the Von Auersperg Building at the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, Rhode Island, at 4 p.m. Boston College (6-1, 0-0 ACC) faces Boston University next Saturday at 4 p.m.
