EASTON, Mass. (November 1, 2021) - Junior forward Lauren Clement enjoyed a six-point day and had a hand in each of Stonehill College's first four goals on its way to a 5-0 triumph over Pace University in Northeast-10 Conference women's soccer action at Skyhawk Field this afternoon to keep its postseason hopes alive heading into Wednesday night's regular season finale.

The Details

  • Clement more than doubled her season and career point total with her six-point effort this afternoon, notching her first career multi-goal match and dishing out the first two assists of her collegiate career to lead Stonehill to its second-straight win and fourth over the last five matches.
  • Senior Camryn Thompson contributed a goal and assist in her final match on Skyhawk Field, while junior Abi Murphy assisted on both of Clement's second half goals that sealed the win within a two-minute span.

  • Thompson and Clement both notched assists on Stonehill's opening goal by senior Megan Giambanco 9:30 into the match. Clement's service from 25-yards out on the right flank was played off the chest of Thompson for an open shot from Giambanco inside the 18 from the right channel and into the upper left corner of the net for her first goal of the season (sixth career).
  • Stonehill doubled its lead in the 32nd minute when junior Peyton Nickerson headed in a Clement corner kick from the right side at the far post for her third goal of the year.
  • Clement's second half brace sealed the win for Stonehill as she and Murphy combined twice within a two-minute span. Murphy first sent Clement in on a counterattack break with a nice through ball for an open shot into the right side 12:55 into the second half. Clement pounced on a rebound of an initial shot by Murphy that was saved by Cole and converted her fourth goal of the season into the right side of the goal just 2:05 later at the hour mark.
  • Thompson capped the scoring in the 81st minute when she converted a penalty kick for her NE10-leading 11th goal of the season after she was brought down on the right side of the penalty area.
  • Thompson now leads the NE10 in both goals and points (23) heading into the regular season finale on Wednesday night, moving into a tie for eighth in program history with her 65 career points, while ranking seventh with 28 goals. She has now dished out nine assists over her 57 career games.
