How it Happened

  • Nasuti scored the gamewinner with just two seconds remaining in overtime, as she took a square ball from freshman Hannah Wheeldon at the top of the 18 off a free kick and drove a low shot into the right side of the goal for just the second goal of her career.
  • Nasuti also had the assist on junior back Peyton Nickerson's goal in the 56th minute that opened the scoring on the day, with her free kick from the left flank connecting for a header at the far post for Nickerson's first career goal.

New Haven responded six minutes later when sophomore Dakota Cimetta got on the end of a cross by senior Mackenzie Myers in the 63rd minute for a header and second goal of the season.
  • Stonehill dominated possession and the shot count, finishing with a 24-7 advantage, but placed nine on target, compared to four on goal for New Haven.
  • Postgrad Paige Davis finished with seven saves in goal for New Haven, while junior Hanna Copley made two of her three saves in the overtime session, including a clearance over the cross bar early in extra time off a well-placed shot from distance by freshman Vickie Fleming.

Noteworthy

  • Nasuti's three-point night is a career-best, having entered her 25th career match with one goal prior to tonight.
  • Wheeldon notched the first point of her career with the assist on the winning goal.
