The Details

  • Less than two minutes into the contest, Sacca put the Skyhawks on the board first after Achtyl pushed the puck ahead to Sacca as she put home a wrist shot just before the left faceoff circle. Later in the frame with under five minutes to play (04:23), Feeney forced a turnover on Stonehill's side of the ice and found a skating Karo ahead of the Eagles defense, and beat Lawrence one-on-one stick side which made it 2-0.
  • With under two minutes to play in the opening frame, Feeney drew a penalty shot after being tripped up on her shot. The freshman forward skated toward Lawrence and after she showed a little hesitation, she froze the Post netminder and fired home her shot and increasing the lead to 3-0.
  • After Post cut the deficit to two (3-1) at the 15:33 mark in the second, the Skyhawks responded shortly after at 12:10 when Achtyl forced a turnover on the Stonehill side. From there, she skated up the right side for her own one-on-one opportunity and snuck the puck past Lawrence's glove side, and made it 4-1.
  • As both sides headed into the final period, Stonehill posted another three-goal period that included scores from Whaley at 05:46, Turcotte at 05:03, and then Petford at 01:33. For Petford, she is now at 21 goals on the year and is now currently tied for the lead in goals in all of Division I.
  • Stone posted her third win in four starts for the squad Friday as the freshman netminder finished with 16 stops.
