2021 Stonehill Softball Schedule (Subject to Change)

Northeast-10 Conference 2021 Softball Schedule Announcement

EASTON, Massachusetts (February 24, 2021) – Stonehill College in conjunction with the Northeast-10 Conference, has announced its 2021 softball schedule today. It marks the second in a series of spring schedule announcements by the Conference over the next week after the 2021 baseball schedule was released on Tuesday.

Stonehill will play a 24-game divisional NE10 softball schedule this spring, starting with a pair of noon doubleheaders on Saturday and Sunday, March 20-21, against rival Bentley University at Fr. William Gartland, CSC, Field. Stonehill's 2021 season will open the previous weekend with a non-conference doubleheader at fellow NE10 member University of New Haven, in West Haven, Connecticut, on Saturday, March 13, at noon.

All dates and times are subject to change by weather and COVID-19 health and safety protocols. All teams will be subject to follow NE10 COVID-19 testing protocols, in addition to health and safety guidelines from their institutions and local communities. The safety and well-being of student-athletes and the Stonehill community remains the primary focus of the College and NE10. In addition, Stonehill's NE10 series against Saint Michael's College on April 3-4 is expected to be adjusted for the Easter holiday.

Stonehill's season-opening doubleheader at New Haven is exactly one year to the date of the College's last intercollegiate athletic contest, when the softball team won a pair of games against Minnesota State University Moorhead (W 5-2) and University of Sioux Falls (W 3-0) on March 13, 2020, to close out their spring break trip to Florida at the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Stonehill's NE10-opening weekend series with Bentley, would be the softball team's first home games since April 27, 2019, when the Skyhawks split an NE10 doubleheader with Franklin Pierce University, capped by a 10-6 win in eight innings in the nightcap.

Stonehill is thus far scheduled for 12 home games at Gartland Field, with four-game weekend NE10 series against Bentley (March 20-21), Saint Michael's (April 3-4 – that will change for the Easter holiday) and Franklin Pierce (April 24-25). The NE10 Tournament dates and format are yet to be announced.

Attendance policies will be determined individually by NE10 institutions, but schools will work to provide live streams of home softball games when possible on NE10 NOW – the digital home of the NE10. Stonehill home games will be available through SkyhawksVision on NE10 NOW, and in addition to watching online, viewers will also be able to watch the action live on their televisions through Apple TV, Android TV, Amazon Fire TV and Roku.

Stonehill posted a 7-5 record in 2020, before its season was cut short to the COVID-19 pandemic, winning three of its last four and five of eight to close out the abbreviated season.
