Senior Nicole Borofski earns her first and second accolades of the 2016 season

EASTON, Mass. (September 6, 2016) – Stonehill College cross country senior Nicole Borofski (Plymouth, Mass./Plymouth North) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference's Student-Athlete of the Week, while freshman Danika Wayss (Warwick, R.I./Pilgrim) was tabbed Northeast-10 Conference's Rookie of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.

Wayss also finished in the top-10, making her collegiate debut placing 10th at the Skyhawk Preview Meet with a time of 19:19. She was the only freshman in the meet of 94 to finish in the top-10.Borofski was also named a USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week, as announced by the organization on Wednesday. She was named one of ten students to receive this accolade. Borofski posted an 18:04 at the Skyhawks Preview Meet this past weekend and finished first among 94 other runners.

Stonehill recorded its first title of the 2016 season tallying a total of 34 points at the Skyhawk Preview Meet. The Skyhawks are off this weekend before returning to action on Friday, September 16 to compete at the National Catholic Championship in South Bend, Indiana and on Saturday, September, 17 for the UMass Invitational in Dartmouth, Mass.
