10 From Women's Track and Field Obtain 11 USTFCCCA All-Region Honors

2022 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field All-Region

EASTON, Mass. (March 10, 2022) – Ten members of the Stonehill College women's track and field team combined for 11 All-East Region honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The awards recognize each region's top five performers in individual events and top three teams in relay events. Stonehill's women totaled 11 student-athletes from the indoor season. Among the Northeast-10 Conference, there were 170 total awards given out, as 88 were tabbed on the men's side and 82 were awarded to women's teams.

Graduate student, Jillian Howard who led the Skyhawks with two All-East Region honors, brings her career total to three after taking home one in the mile and distance medley relay team. Howard crossed the finish line at 05:06.61 which marked a new career-best at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational. She also finished third as a member of the distance medley relay team at the NE10 Indoor Championships for a time of 12:41.86 to earn All-Conference honors. 

Classmate Casey Gannon collected her fifth All-East Region honors when she clocked in a personal-best time of 9.06-seconds in the 60-meter hurdles at the NE10 Indoor Championships placing third for her eighth All-Conference honor.

Senior Krista Stracqualursi earned her second All-East Region honors after she had a season-high toss of 12.27 meters in shotput at the URI Invitational. 

Junior Haley Lightbody cleared a season-best height of 3.25 meters in the pole vault at the NE10 Indoor Championships for first place for the second year in a row. Lightbody has now earned her third All-East Region honors. 

Junior Erin Johnston earned her first All-East Region honors after competing in the distance medley relay team at the NE10 Indoor Championships finishing in third place at 12:41.86 while also taking home All-Conference accolades. 

Junior Victoria Lombardi ran a new personal best in the 5000-meter during the indoor season at the NE10 Indoor Championships at a time of 18:00.36. Her strong finish earned her her second All-East Region honor. 

Sophomore Kaytlin Encarnacao had multiple strong races in the 400-meter this past indoor season. She clocked her best time (58.16 seconds) at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICCAAA) Indoor Track and Field Championship which gave her All-New England honors. This marks the first USTFCCA All-East Region honors for the sophomore sprinter. 

Fellow sophomore, Abigail Larsson reached a career-best height of 3.20 meters in the pole vault at the NEICCAAA Indoor Track and Field Championship, earning her first All-East Region honor. 

Finally, sophomores Caitlin Swanson and Ashley Warren were also each part of the distance medley relay team at the NE10 Indoor Championships that garnered third place with a time of 12:41.86. It is also the first All-East Region Honors for the sophomores.
