Fressle Named to IWLCA Senior All-Star Team

IWLCA Announces 2022 Senior All-Star Teams

EASTON, Mass. (June 3, 2022) – Stonehill College senior attack Kendall Fressle has been selected to participate in the 2022 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division II Senior All-Star Game, which will be held on Tierney Field at USA Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Maryland, on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

The IWLCA's annual All-Star Games make a return this weekend with Fressle among 129 seniors across NCAA Divisions I, II and III who will be showcased at Tierney Field on Sunday. The Division II North-South game will cap the day after the Division III Senior All-Star Game at 11 a.m., and the Division I All-Stars at 12:45 p.m. Admission to all three games will be free of charge.

Fressle, an IWLCA All-North Region and All-Northeast-10 Conference second team selection this spring, is one of four NE10 seniors named to the North Team that will be coached by NCAA Division II national runner-up head coach Xeni Barakos-Yoder from East Stroudsburg University. Fressle is the first Stonehill representative named to the Senior All-Star Game, that is making its return for the first time since 2019, since Taylor Shannahan, '18 in 2018.

Fressle was a key member of a Stonehill attack that led the NE10 and finished ranked sixth nationally in Division II for scoring offense with 17.05 goals per game. She finished her senior season second on the team and fifth among NE10 leaders with her 55 goals scored, including a program-record 23 free-position goals to lead the Conference and rank 12th nationally with 1.10 free-position goals per game. Fressle was one of three 50-goal scorers for the top attack in the NE10 and added 12 assists to rank fourth on the Skyhawks with 67 points that rank tenth among NE10 scoring leaders. Named to the NE10 All-Championship team in helping Stonehill to its Conference record tenth NE10 Tournament title, she also chipped in with 18 ground balls and ten caused turnovers, netting multiple goals in 16 of the Skyhawks 21 games this spring, including three-plus goals nine times. She scored a career-high seven goals, while adding an assist for a career-best eight points in a 22-11 win at Franklin Pierce University on March 15, capping her career with four goals in postseason matchups with No. 22 University of New Haven in the quarterfinals of the NE10 Tournament and the NCAA II East Regional Championship against No. 7 Adelphi University.

Fressle, an NE10 All-Rookie Team pick as a freshman in 2019, started 27 of the 49 games she played over her Stonehill career and is one of two Skyhawks to reach both 100 goals and 100 points over her career this season, joining All-American and IWLCA Division II Midfielder of the Year Emma Sullivan in accomplishing the feat this spring. Fressle netted her 100th career goal in her final collegiate game against No. 7 Adelphi in the NCAA Tournament and added 19 assists to finish with 119 points, including 40 free-position goals, with 38 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers in her career. She recently graduated with a degree in health science and has been named to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll and Athletic Director's Honor Roll, receiving the Division II Athletic Director's Association (ADA) Academic Achievement Award for her work in the classroom.

Stonehill, picked to finish ninth in the NE10 preseason coaches' poll, finished its final NCAA Division II season with an 18-3 record overall, including 12-1 in the NE10 to win the Conference's regular season championship a record 12th time, adding a record tenth NE10 Tournament title on its way to earning a ninth NCAA Division II Tournament bid. The Skyhawks were the top seed for the NCAA East Regional and are ranked No. 5 in the final IWLCA Division II poll of the season.
