Men’s Cross Country Trio Earn NEC Weekly Awards

RACE RESULTS

EASTON, Mass. (September 21, 2023) – Senior 5th-year runner Reilly Johnston (East Providence, R.I./Saint Raphael Academy) was named the Northeast Conference Athlete of the Week as well as a Prime Performer after finishing seventh out of 303 runners during the UMass Dartmouth Invitational at the Robert Dowd Cross Country Course on September 17.

In the 8k he paced the Skyhawks finishing the race in 24:54.17, shaving three seconds off his personal best, for a seventh-place finish in the second heat.  As a team, the Skyhawks placed second in the race out of 39 teams with 79 points.

Freshman Nick Davies (Auckland, New Zealand/Westlake Boys) made his mark in his first collegiate race, earning the honor of NEC Rookie of the Week.  Davies landed in 16th place with a time of 25:14.0.

Fellow 5th-year runner Colin Black (Hopedale, Mass./Hopedale) earned his spot as one of this week's NEC Prime Performers, finishing 11th in the race, crossing the finish line in 25:02.0.

Stonehill is back on the course on Saturday, September 30 when they travel to Lehigh University for the Paul Short Run at the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course in Bethlehem, Pa.
