DARTMOUTH, Mass. (September 17, 2023) - Fifth-year runner Reilly Johnston (East Providence, R.I.) finished seventh out of 303 runners as the Stonehill men's cross-country team ran in the UMass Dartmouth Invitational at the Robert Dowd Cross Country Course and came in second place with 79 points.
Highlights
- Johnston paced the Skyhawks in the 8k, finishing the race in 24:54.17, three seconds off his personal best of 24:51.9 (from 9/30/22 at the Paul Short Run), for a seventh-place finish in the second heat.
- Fifth-year Colin Black (Hopedale, Mass./Hopedale) finished 11th in the race, crossing the finish line in 25:02.0.
- Freshman Nick Davies (Auckland, New Zealand/Westlake Boys) ran in his first collegiate 8k race, coming in 16th place in a time of 25:14.0.
- Junior Jace Hollenbach (Topsham, Maine/Mt. Ararat) set a new personal best in the 8k and finished in 21st place, clocking in at 25:21.51.
- Senior Patrick Garrett (Westwood, Mass./Westwood) ran the race in 25:26.6, placing 24th while setting a new personal best.
Other Performances
- Freshman Dylan Brilliant (Plymouth, Mass./Plymouth South) also made his collegiate debut in the 8k and finished 35th overall with a time of 25:44.46.
- Senior Connor Hughes (Melrose, Mass./St. Johns Prep) had a 39th-place finish with a time of 25:48.19, narrowly missing his personal best of 25:45.0 (from 9/30/22 at the Paul Short Run).
