Riano Rojas Earns All-NE10 Third Team Honors

Bogotá, Columbia, senior earns All-Conference honors for first time

EASTON, Mass. (May 4, 2022) – Stonehill College senior Juan Camilo Riano Rojas has capped his collegiate career by earning a spot on the All-Northeast-10 Conference third team at No. 5 singles, the league announced.

Riano Rojas, who earned NE10 All-Rookie Team status as a freshman in 2019, collects All-NE10 honors for the first time in his career. He finished his senior season with a combined 12 wins in singles and doubles play, posting four singles wins, including two in NE10 play, and finishing 4-3 at No. 5 singles. Riano Rojas also posted an 8-7 doubles mark with three different playing partners, including a 6-4 record at No. 3 doubles. He and fifth-year Trent Newman combined for a 3-1 record in the fall and then Riano Rojas and junior Ben Simmons posted a 4-3 mark at No. 3 this spring.

Riano Rojas, who has received the Division II Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award, posted a combined record of 47-35 in singles and doubles play over his Stonehill career. He finished with a 21-19 singles mark, while adding a 26-16 doubles clip in his career. Riano Rojas has been named to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll and Athletic Director's Honor Roll multiple semesters.

Stonehill wrapped up its final season at the NCAA Division II level and the NE10 with a 7-8 record overall, including 1-6 in Conference play, before starting a transition to NCAA Division I as a member of the Northeast Conference starting July 1.
