Aulson leads five Falcons double-winners

WALTHAM, Mass. (April 11, 2022) – Bentley University posted a 6-1 victory over Stonehill College in Northeast-10 Conference men's tennis action at Brandeis University this afternoon. 

Highlights

  • Postgrad Connor Aulson led five double-winners for Bentley with wins at No. 1 doubles and No. 2 singles.
  • Junior Jordan Soifer and sophomores Gabe Horwitz and Diego Ramos all posted singles and doubles wins for the Falcons, while senior Alexander Novins rounded out the double-winners with a retirement win in singles play.
  • Freshman Guillaume Duhil de Bénazé earned Stonehill's point with his decision at No. 1 singles by retirement.

How it Happened

  • Bentley swept the three doubles matches to claim its first point with Aulson and postgrad Daniel Weitz posting a 6-2 win at No. 1.
  • Horwitz and Ramos completed the doubles sweep with a 6-4 decision at No. 3 against Stonehill senior Juan Camilo Riano Rojas and junior Ben Simmons.
  • Aulson added a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles against Stonehill sophomore Louis Coppi.
  • Horwitz took the first set against Simmons at No. 5 singles in a tiebreaker (7-4) before finishing off the win at 6-2 in the second set.
  • Soifer won the first set 6-1 over Stonehill junior Luke Nickerson before winning the second in a tiebreak (7-2).
  • de Bénazé held a 5-4 lead in the first set against Weitz when Weitz retired due to injury to pick up Stonehill's point.
