The Details

  • Senior quarterback Anton Stoneking engineered the Stonehill comeback efforts with three touchdown passes, connecting with sophomore Cameron Alves for a 20-yard touchdown pass with 36-seconds to play to clinch the win – the Skyhawks fifth in a row at W.B. Mason Stadium dating back to 2019.
  • Senior All-American running back Justin Felder surpassed 100 rushing yards for the fourth time in as many games this season and eighth-straight game dating back to 2019, scoring his 11th touchdown of the season with 10-minutes remaining – just five plays and 2:25 after an Assumption 70-yard interception return for a touchdown gave the Greyhounds a 12-point lead (26-14) with 12:26 to play.
  • Stonehill trailed 14-0 in the first quarter, but battled back to draw even after Stoneking connected with freshman Chris Domercant for a 19-yard touchdown pass less than four minutes into the second quarter.
  • Assumption took a three-point lead into the intermission with a 38-yard field goal from junior Patrick May with no time remaining in the second quarter and then May extended the Greyhounds lead to six with a 23-yard field goal with 3:12 left in the third.
  • Assumption was able to get to midfield after falling behind for the first time all night after Stoneking's third touchdown pass, but a 57-yard May field goal attempt was tipped at the line and fell well short to end the game.
  • Senior Kevin Porch broke up an Assumption pass towards the end zone with two-seconds remaining to set up the long field goal try.
