Domercant Named NE10 Rookie of the Week

Bellingham, Massachusetts, freshman wide receiver has impact in collegiate debut

NE10 Football Weekly Report

EASTON, Mass. (September 7, 2021) – Stonehill College freshman wide receiver Chris Domercant has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week for football, the league announced on Monday.

Domercant, a true freshman, shined in his collegiate debut, helping to compliment Stonehill's powerful running game in Saturday's 35-13 win over Bloomsburg (Pa.) University. He finished with three receptions for 56 yards and a touchdown, which came 6:22 into the third quarter and opened the second half scoring. His 16-yard touchdown catch stretched the Skyhawks lead to 21-3 and he also added a diving 36-yard grab down the right sideline late in the second quarter that helped to set up a field goal try.

Domercant, who led Stonehill in receiving yards on Saturday, sits eighth among NE10 leaders for receiving yards after the opening week. He is one of two Skyhawks with a receiving touchdown, among 14 with touchdown catches in the NE10 in week one.

Stonehill (1-0, 0-0 NE10) returns to action on Saturday night, when it hosts Southern Connecticut State University for a non-conference clash at W.B. Mason Stadium at 6 p.m.
