Women's Indoor Track and Field Finish Day Two of the NEICAAA Championships

BOSTON, Mass (February 3, 2023)- The Stonehill College women's indoor track and field team competed in the second day of the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association Indoor Track and Field Championship. The team put in a great effort, having multiple athletes earning All New England.

 
 
 

Highlights

  • Freshman Emily Young (Newton, Mass. / Beverly), Freshman Grace Tyrrell ( Cavendish, Vt. / Green Mountain Union), Sophomore Emma Lawrence (Milford, Mass. / Milford), and Freshman Jordan Malloy (Colchester, Conn. / Bacon Academy) ran in the 4000-meter distance medley, running in a total time of 12:20.09, placing fifth overall, earning All New England.
  • Freshman Jordan Malloy (Colchester, Conn. / Bacon Academy) ran an impressive one-mile run, placing sixth overall with a time of 5:07.82, earning All New England.
  • Sophomore Madison Rousseau (Canton, Mass. / Canton) competed in the 60-meter hurdles, placing sixth overall with a time of 9.06 in the first round of time trials, then finishing in seventh with a time of 9.13 in the final round, making All New England.
  • Senior Elizabeth Marshall (Plymouth, Mass / Plymouth North), Senior Jenna French, Junior Caroline Surrette, and Freshman Ava Cote (Wenham, Mass. / Hamilton Wenham Regional) ran in the 4x800-meter relay, running in 9:43.89, earning seventh place and making All New England.

  • Freshman Emily Young (Newton, Mass. / Beverly) competed in the one-mile run, placing 12th overall with a time of 5:14.57.
  • Freshman Kaia Eder (Moorestown, N.J. / Delran) competed in the triple jump event, placing 14th overall, hitting 10.90m.
  • Sophomore Emma Lawrence (Milford, Mass. / Milford) placed 15th in the one-mile run with a time of 5:16.34.
  • Senior distance runner Jillian Callahan (Plymouth, Mass / Plymouth North) competed in the 5000-meter run, placing 15th overall with a time of 19:19.01.
  • Senior Kaley Enright (Groveland, Mass. / Pentucket Regional) competed in the shot put event, throwing 10.40m, placing 21st overall.
  • Junior middle distance runner Caroline Surrette (Woburn, Mass. / Woburn Memorial) competed in the 800-meter trials, placing 23rd overall with a time of 2:28.69.
  • Junior Cassidy Becker (North Attleboro, Mass.) ran in the 60-meter hurdles, placing 24th overall with a finishing time of 9.80.
  • Freshman Aneka Andrews (McLean, Va. / McLean) competed in the 60-meter hurdles, placing 27th overall with a time of 10.09.
  • Senior distance runner Jillian Callahan (Plymouth, Mass / Plymouth North) ran in the 5000-meter run, placing 15th with a final time of 19:19.01.
  • With seven events scored, the team placed 16th overall on the first day of events.
