WEST WINDSOR, N.J. (April 11, 2024) – The Stonehill College men's tennis team will play No. 9 seeded Wagner College in the play-in round of the Northeast Conference Tennis Championship Tournament. The Skyhawks and Seahawks will face off at the Mercy County Tennis Center in West Windsor, New Jersey, at 9 a.m. on Friday, April 12.

In their first year competing at the NEC Championship tournament, the Skyhawks are led by the impressive performances of freshman Jacob Borch-Nielsen and sophomore Mark Kröll. Borch-Nielsen, the team leader in singles victories with 11 on the season, and Kroll, who tallied six on the year, have been instrumental in the team's success. In doubles competition, the lead pairing for the Skyhawks, Borch-Nielsen and junior Jacob Wilhelm Krefting, have combined for a team-best five wins, including going 4-6 in their last ten matches as a duo.
As a squad, Stonehill has posted a 5-13 overall record and a 1-5 mark in conference play. The Skyhawks' first-ever NEC match win came against Wagner College, 6-1, on February 24 in Staten Island, New York. Led by individual double win days by Borch-Nielsen, Kröll, and Wilhelm Krefting, the last time the two sides met, the Skyhawks will look to repeat and earn a decisive win against the Seahawks in the championship play-in round.

The winner of the Skyhawks and Seahawks match on Friday will move to take on top-seeded Binghamton University on Friday, April 12, after 4:30 p.m.
