Men's Tennis Drops Conference Matchup to Merrimack

HAVERHILL, Mass. (February 17, 2024) – The Stonehill College men's tennis team fell to Northeast Conference (NEC) opponent Merrimack College, 7-0, Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Skyhawks fall to 3-4 overall and 0-2 in conference play, while the Warriors improve to 4-6 overall and 1-2 against NEC opponents. 

Highlights

  • Highlighting the Skyhawks during doubles competition were sophomore Mark Kröll and sophomore Donovan Rodrigues.
  • Despite falling 7-6, the sophomore classmates battled their opponents, junior Henrik Lindeman and Jack Brimm, to a challenging game at No. 3 doubles.
  • Freshman Jacob Borch-Nielsen forced a three-set match at the No. 1 singles slot against senior Aryaan Bhatia.
  • However, Bhatia would pull away in the third set and earn the point over Borch-Nielsen 6-1, 6-7, 10-7.
  • Following the conclusion of the No. 1 singles match, the Warriors did not drop a set and earned a 7-0 shutout victory over Stonehill.
