NEW HAVEN, Conn. (October 6-7, 2023) – Stonehill men's tennis's first-year duo of Jacob Borch-Nielsen and Alexis Chastang registered wins in the opening round of the ITA Northeast Regional Tournament to highlight the Skyhawks weekend competition at Yale.
Borch-Nielsen opened competition on Friday with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Sacred Heart junior Matyas Venci to move on to day two of competition. In the round of 64, Borch-Nielsen fell in straight sets to Harvard junior David Lins 6-1, 7-6 (7-1).
Chastang also recorded a win in his match on day one of competition on Friday, only dropping two points to Holy Cross junior Jeremy Clark, 6-0, 6-2. After his first-round win, Chastang moved onto the round of 64 on Saturday where he fell to junior Carlos Guerrero Alvarez of Dartmouth College, 6-0, 1-0.
