Mallon and de Bènazè claim win at No. 1 doubles for Skyhawks

WEYMOUTH, Mass. (February 4, 2023) – Boston University posted a 7-0 victory over Stonehill College in a non-conference men's tennis dual match at The Weymouth Club this evening.

Highlights

  • Freshman Corey Craig and junior Jonah Dickson led Boston University to the win as double-winners.
  • Craig combined with junior Ben Letzer for a 6-4 decision at No. 3 doubles and then secured a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Stonehill senior Christian Duffy at No. 2 singles
  • Dickson and sophomore Cole Knutsen teamed up for a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles. Dickson followed that up with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles against freshman Mathias Langaard.
  • Knutsen was also a double-winner for the Terriers adding a 6-0, 6-0 triumph at No. 5 singles.
  • Sophomore Guillaume Duhil de Bénazé and freshman Mateo Mallen earned a win for Stonehill at No. 1 doubles, defeating BU junior Johann Sajonz and sophomore Adrian Pawlowski 6-2.

Stonehill (6-2, 0-0 NEC) returns to action next Saturday, when it opens Northeast Conference play against Merrimack College at Cedardale Health & Tennis Club in Haverhill, Massachusetts, at 1 p.m. BU (2-2, 0-0 Patriot) will face Adelphi University and MIT next Saturday at 8:45 a.m., and 6 p.m., respectively.
