Domercant Earns Third NE10 Rookie of the Week Award

EASTON, Mass. (November 15, 2021) – Stonehill College freshman wide receiver Chris Domercant has again been named the Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week for his efforts, the league announced today.

Domercant earns NE10 Rookie of the Week accolades for the third time this season for his efforts in Saturday's 42-6 victory at Southern Connecticut State University to close out the 2021 season. He posted four receptions for 91 yards and two touchdowns in the win, helping open the scoring on the day with a three-yard touchdown grab 2:11 into the game on the Skyhawks second play of the day. Domercant also collected a 75-yard touchdown catch and run on the first play from scrimmage of the second half to give Stonehill a 35-0 lead, matching his season-best with two touchdown catches, with his second-longest reception of the year.

Domercant made an immediate impact as a true freshman for Stonehill this fall, starting all ten games and averaging an NE10-best 21.5 yards per reception (9th nationally in Division II). He also finished the season with an NE10-leading nine touchdown receptions (28th), good for fourth on Stonehill's all-time single-season list and a new freshman record. Domercant collected 38 receptions for an NE10-best 818 yards, ranking second among NE10 leaders with 81.8 yards per game (37th) and seventh in receptions. His yardage total ranks ninth on the program's single-season list.

Domercant, who also earned NE10 Rookie of the Week honors following the first two weeks of his collegiate career in September, posted 100-plus receiving yards in three games this season, posting 80-plus yards in six of the ten games, with a touchdown in seven games. He registered a season-high 132 yards on four receptions and two touchdowns in Stonehill's 54-21 week two win over Southern Connecticut State. Domercant totaled a season-best six receptions at Pace University on October 30, finishing with 53 yards.

Stonehill finished its 2021 season with an 8-2 record overall, including a 6-2 mark in the NE10 to finish third in the final regular season standings. The Skyhawks finished their season with three-straight wins to reach the eight win mark for the first time since its NE10 regular season championship campaign in 2013 (8-3), while posting its first 8-2 season since 1996. The Skyhawks finished 6-2 in NE10 play for the first time since posting an 8-1 mark in 2013.
