Coughlin, '80 Memorial Field at W.B. Mason Stadium tonight.

Felder led a Stonehill offense that piled up 552 yards of total offense with a program-record five touchdown carries. He breaks the previous program mark of four rushing touchdowns set by Michael Strachan, '90 against Merrimack College in 1989 and matched three times by Tyrone Jefferson, '01 against Assumption University in 1998, Eddie Vachon, '11 against Pace University in 2010 and Jermetrius Troy, '13 in 2011 against Pace.

How it Happened

  • Stonehill started fast for the second-straight week, scoring on its first three possessions to stake out a 20-0 lead after Domercant hauled in a Stoneking pass for an 83-yard touchdown 1:09 into the second quarter.
  • Felder scored the first two touchdowns of the night in the first quarter. The first with a 17-yard scamper five minutes into the game and then adding a four-yard run with 1:42 to play in the quarter.
  • Ostrowski put Southern on the scoreboard with 7:51 to play in the second quarter with a two-yard run. He then added a 52-yard touchdown pass to Pappalo with seven seconds left in the half to draw the Owls within 27-14 at the half.
  • Felder's fourth touchdown of the night capped Stonehill's first touchdown of the second half with a nine-yard run.
  • Junior TJ Gardner pulled Southern back within 12 (33-12) with a one-yard plunge to cap an 11-play, 83-yard drive with 7:10 remaining in the third quarter.
  • Stonehill followed with the final three touchdowns of the night to seal the win. Felder capped his record-breaking night with a 13-yard touchdown run with 5:32 left in the contest.
  • Domercant collected a 23-yard touchdown pass from Stoneking for his first multiple touchdown game of his collegiate career.
  • Senior Brian Kearns, Jr. capped the scoring on the night with a six-yard touchdown run with 1:24 to play.

Noteworthy

  • Felder, named a D2Football.com preseason All-American after boasting the honors and being Stonehill's first Harlon Hill Trophy candidate as a sophomore, surpassed 100 yards rushing for the sixth-straight game dating back to 2019, and ninth time in his career, overall. It also marks his fifth game with three or more touchdowns.
  • Kearns, Jr. scored his first touchdown since the third quarter of Stonehill's win over Assumption in the final game of the 2018 season. The touchdown is the 25th of his career, breaking the previous Stonehill record of 24 by Vachon between 2007 and 2010. Felder's five touchdowns tonight give him 24 for his career.
  • Felder's five touchdowns are one shy of the NE10 record of six by LIU Post's Ian Smart against Southern Connecticut in 2000 and matched by Southern's Rashaad Slowley in 2011.
