How it Happened

  • After Stonehill missed its first of three field goals on the afternoon with a 50-yard attempt to cap the game's opening possession, Bentley responded with a 23-yard field goal by sophomore Mason Campbell to cap a ten play, 61-yard drive.
  • Stonehill followed that with a 14-play, 82-yard drive capped by a six-yard touchdown run by Felder with nine seconds remaining in the first quarter.
  • Severance turned the momentum in the game when he stepped in front of a Stoneking pass at the Stonehill 30-yard line and ran free to the end zone to put Bentley in front for good five minutes into the second quarter.
  • Bentley carried a ten point lead (17-7) into halftime after Neville hauled in a 36-yard touchdown pass from senior quarterback Stephen Sturm with 5:12 remaining in the half.
  • Stonehill saw field goal attempts of 48 yards heading into halftime and 46-yards towards the end of the third quarter off target.
  • Bentley stretched its lead to 24-7 with a four-yard Larkins scamper with 9:42 remaining in the fourth.
  • Felder's second touchdown of the afternoon, from two yards out, gave Stonehill hope of a comeback, but the Skyhawks would get no closer.

Noteworthy

  • Felder, named a D2Football.com preseason All-American after boasting the honors and being Stonehill's first Harlon Hill Trophy candidate as a sophomore, surpassed 100 yards rushing for the seventh-straight game dating back to 2019, and tenth time in his career, overall.
  • Felder's two touchdowns this afternoon, give him a program-record 28 rushing touchdowns for his career. He now has 31 total touchdowns in 21 career games to move into second on the program's all-time list ahead of Andrew Jamiel, '19, to trail Eddie Vachon, '11 who scored 34 touchdowns from 2007-2010.
