Women's Basketball was one of nine teams that participated in the Virtual 5k.

EASTON, Massachusetts (September 9, 2020) - On Sunday, August 30, Team IMPACT hosted their first ever Unstoppable (Virtual) 5K. Registrants were encouraged to run, walk, roll, dance their way through a 5K to help raise critical funds and awareness for the kids, families and teams who rely on the therapeutic program.

Team IMPACT (Inspire, Motivate, Play Against Challenges Together) is a national nonprofit that connects children facing serious and chronic illnesses with local college athletic teams to form life-long bonds and life-changing outcomes. 

Team IMPACT is a national nonprofit headquartered in Quincy, Massachusetts and since 2011, Team IMPACT has matched nearly 2,000 children with more than 700 colleges and universities in 48 states, reaching over 55,000 participating student-athletes. The child joins the athletic team and the student-athletes join the child's support team - from Draft Day to Graduation. During the journey, the child gains strength, camaraderie, and support while the student-athletes experience lessons of courage, resiliency and perspective they can't learn in the classroom.

The 5K had representation from five different countries, 37 states, 72 schools, with 1,531 participants raising over $21,000. Stonehill had 72 registrants and finished fifth among all institutions that participated in the program, tied with Boston College, on the leaderboard out of 72 teams. 

From the 72 Skyhawks that registered, student-athletes from men's basketball, women's soccer, men's and women's cross country, women's lacrosse, field hockey, football, women's volleyball, and men's ice hockey participated. 

Currently on campus, Stonehill has eight matches with teammates on the baseball team, men's basketball, football, men's ice hockey, dance, women's soccer, softball, and volleyball.
