SMITHFIELD, R.I. (September 9, 2023) - The Stonehill College women's cross-country team ran in the Shawn M. Nassaney Invitational at Bryant University on Saturday, placing sixth overall while Northeastern came in first, UMass Amherst placed second, and Brown came in third.
Highlights
- Junior Emma Lawrence (Milford, Mass./Milford) had the top time for the Skyhawks, finishing her first 5k of the season in 18:44.3 placing 16th out of 141 runners overall.
- Freshman Kellie Harrington (Pittsfield, Mass./Pittsfield) notched a 36th-place finish in her first collegiate 5k appearance, crossing the finish line at 19:15.6.
- Fifth-year Victoria Lombardi (Peabody, Mass./Peabody Veterans Memorial) was close behind Harrington, finishing the race in 19:18.5
Other Performances
- Freshman Jessica Kenyon (Monson, Mass./Pope Francis Prep) made her collegiate debut in a 5k race, clocking in at 19:44.6.
- Freshman Iasmim De Sousa-Vieira (Medford, Mass./Medford) also made her debut in the 5k, finishing in 19:51.2.
- Freshman Molly Nyhan (Concord, N.H./Concord) crossed the finish line close behind her fellow first-year teammates, notching her finish in 20:08.0.
