Women’s Track & Field Competes on Day 2 at NE10 Championships

Erhard earns first track & field All-Conference honor taking second in the 10,000-meter

SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts (May 7, 2021) – Stonehill College competed in two events on day two of the 2021 Northeast-10 Conference Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by American International College, at John G. Hoyt Track & Field Complex this afternoon.

In the 10,000-meter run, junior Rebecca Erhard earned the team's first All-Conference award of the meet finishing second out of 12 competitors. Erhard clocked in a time of 39:20.17 taking eight points for the Skyhawks. This is her first track & field All-Conference nod and second career.

Stonehill's Cassidy Becker, competing in her first NE10 Championship, sits second in the women's heptathlon with 2,332 points. The freshman finished second in the 100-meter hurdles, clocking in a time of 16.03-seconds earning 711 points. Also, in the 200-meter dash, she finished second with a time of 28.06-seconds earning 626 points. With a throw of 8.29-meters, Becker placed fifth earning 418 points. In the fourth event of the day, Becker placed tied for fourth clearing a height of 1.46-meters, totaling 577 points.

After two events scored, Stonehill sits sixth overall with eight points, while Southern New Hampshire leads the way with 14 points, Franklin Pierce University is second with 11 points, and University of New Haven and the College of Saint Rose has 10 points for third.

Stonehill will return to action for the final day of the NE10 Championships tomorrow, Saturday, May 8 in Springfield, starting at 10:30 a.m.
