Skyhawks earn All-NE10 honors in three events, post 12 top fives
Stonehill's three All-NE10 performances and 12 top five finishes helped compile 94 points for its fourth place team finish at the NE10 Championships, which was won by Southern Connecticut State University for the 12th time – but first since 2014 – with 147 points. Two-time defending NE10 Indoor Champions American International College finished second with 137 points, while Merrimack College rounded out the top three with 100.5. Franklin Pierce University (85.5 points) followed Stonehill in fifth place.
Senior captain Joe Santo (Newburyport, Massachusetts/Newburyport) earned All-NE10 honors for the second straight season and sixth time on his career overall, with his second place finish in the 5000-meter run in a season-best time of 14:59.10. He was followed closely by classmate Daniel Nolan (Chelmsford, Massachusetts/Chelmsford) in third place with his personal-best time of 15:10.54, while sophomore Lawrence Carney (Lowell, Massachusetts/Lowell) scored points with his seventh place finish in a season-best 15:34.58.
Junior Anthony Innamorati (Clinton, Massachusetts/Clinton) earned All-NE10 honors for the second time in his career with his first indoor honor, finishing second in the pole vault by clearing a height of 13-feet, 11.25 inches. Sophomore Daniel Bomba (Putnam Valley, New York/Iona Prep) earned five points for the Skyhawks in a personal-best 13-5.25 to finish fourth overall, while junior Dillon Neumann (Harwinton, Connecticut/Lewis Mills) took a point in eighth at 12-05.50.

Stonehill's 4x400-meter relay team turned in a second place finish in 3:24.62. Earning All-NE10 honors in the event for the Skyhawks were freshman Andrew Scarlotto (Portsmouth, New Hampshire/Portsmouth), who ran the lead leg unofficially in 50.4-seconds, followed by sophomore Joshua Hubbell (Gloucester, Massachusetts/St. John's Prep) in 51.3-seconds, classmate Daniel Madsen (West Haven, Connecticut/Notre Dame-West Haven) with a 51.1-second split on the third leg, before senior All-American Matt Baldasare (Mansfield, Massachusetts/Mansfield) ran the anchor leg in 51.7.
Scarlotto and Baldasare both earned points for Stonehill in the 400-meter dash as Scarlotto finished fourth in 50.36-seconds, with Baldasare sixth in 51.05. Madsen earned two points with his seventh place finish in the 500-meter dash in 1:06.91 – good for second in his section.
Stonehill's 4000-meter distance medley relay team turned in a third place finish in 10:23.69. Freshman Jeremy Breen (Watertown, Massachusetts/Watertown) completed the 1200-meter opening leg in 3:12.1, followed by classmate Atiba McLaren (Pittsford, Massachusetts/McQuaid Jesuit) who ran the 400-meter leg in 50.1-seconds, senior Steven Bomba (Putnam Valley, New York/Iona Prep) ran the 800-meter leg in 2:00.1 before sophomore Christopher Drace (Franklin, New Jersey/Pope John XXIII) completed the one mile anchor leg in 4:20.5.
Stonehill's 4x800-meter relay finished fourth in 7:59.47. Senior Duncan Burleigh (Hingham, Massachusetts/Hingham) ran the lead leg unofficially in 2:01.9, followed by sophomore Riley Dowd (Peabody, Massachusetts/Peabody Veterans Memorial) who ran the second leg in 2:00.3, classmate Matthew Shaw (Goffstown, Massachusetts/Goffstown) completed the third leg in 1:58.5, before sophomore Stephen Vercollone (Pembroke, Massachusetts/Pembroke) ran the anchor leg in 1:58.5.

Vercollone and Burleigh also both scored points in the 800-meter run, with Vercollone running fourth in 1:56.94 and Burleigh placed seventh in 1:57.99.
Sophomore Alexander Demeule (Merrimac, Massachusetts/Pentucket Regional) posted a fourth place finish in the one mile run in 4:18.94. He also led five Stonehill entries in the 1000-meter run, which included two scoring performances and three runners in the top ten, with a sixth place showing in 2:35.18. Shaw finished seventh in 2:35.73, while classmate David Lockhart (Stoughton, Massachusetts/Stoughton) closed out the top ten in 2:37.43.

Junior Jordan Sullivan (Sound Beach, New York/Miller Place) placed third in the high jump by clearing a height of 6-feet, 2.25-inches. Classmate Mark Hamalian (West Bridgewater, Massachusetts/Bridgewater-Raynham) took seventh at 5-10.05.
Junior Stefan Balestra (Lincoln, Rhode Island/Lincoln) finished fourth in the weight throw by clearing a distance of 51-feet, 1.5-inches.
Sophomore Darren Shi (Yarmouth, Maine/Yarmouth) placed sixth in the shot put with a distance of 44-feet, even.
Junior Jonathan Naval (Stratford, Connecticut/Bunnell) collected two points for Stonehill in the triple jump with his seventh place finish in 45-feet, 0.5-inches.
Junior Kenny Vinacco (Scituate, Rhode Island/Scituate) posted a top ten finish in the 3000-meter run with his season-best time of 9:00.13 – good for second in his section and tenth overall.
Stonehill will continue its championship season next weekend when its qualified athletes compete at the New England Indoor Track & Field Championships, right back here at the Reggie Lewis Center, on Friday and Saturday.
