EASTON, Mass. (May 5, 2017) – The Stonehill College men's and women's track and field team will compete in the Northeast-10 Conference Outdoor Championships on Saturday, May 6-7, hosted by the Skyhawks in W.B. Mason Stadium in Easton, Massachusetts.

The women are currently ranked No. 1 in this week's U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division II East Regional Computer Rankings, while the men are placed third.

The women were selected by the NE10's 12 coaches to take first place recording 120 points and 10 first-place tallies. Southern Connecticut State University was voted second with 111 points and two first-place tallies, as Adelphi University rounded out the top three with 95 points. Merrimack College (88 points) and American International College (78 points) placed fourth and fifth, respectively.

The women captured its fourth-straight NE10 Indoor Track and Field title in February and aims to collect its third NE10 Outdoor Championship this season after winning in 2014 and 2016.

The men's squad was voted to finish third in the conference earning 82 points and one first-place tally, while 13-time champion and returning runner-up from last year Southern Connecticut State University (99 points) was voted first with nine first-place tallies and returning 2016 champion American International College (83 points) was voted to finish second. Franklin Pierce University fell behind the Skyhawks with 72 points and one first-place vote, as Merrimack College rounded out the top five claiming 62 points.

The men stunned the field in 2013 as the squad claimed its first NE10 Indoor Championship title in program history and has taken the runner-up position in the Outdoor Championships four times. The squad placed third in last years' meet behind champion American International College and runner-up Southern Connecticut State University.

WOMEN:
Senior Nicole Borofski (Plymouth, Mass./Plymouth North) has surpassed two NCAA provisional marks this season in the 800-meter sprint and the 1500-meter run and hit one automatic mark in the 3000-meter steeplechase. She is ranked eighth overall Division II in the steeplechase, 24^th in the 1500m, and 54^th in the 800m. The eight-time All-American has also won 13-straight NE10 Championship events, including cross country and indoor & outdoor track & field. Last year Borofski won the 5000-meter and the 1500-meter events. In 2015, she took the titles in the 1500m and 3000m steeplechase.

Classmate Aisha McAdams (North Kingstown, Rhode Island/North Kingstown) enters the NE10 Championship with two All-NE10 team marks in the 800-meter by finishing first and in the 1500m, with a runner-up mark. She also took second in both events as a sophomore. Stonehill will also have five other participants in the 1500m besides McAdams and Borofski among the 26 total competing in the event.

Sophomore Courtney Daggett (Attleboro, Mass./Attleboro) looks to earn All-Conference once again, as she placed second in the high jump last year with a height of 1.57m.

Sophomore Olivia Dexter (East Calais, Vt./Union 32) finished third in last years 100- and 200-meter sprints, just shy of All-NE10. Currently she holds the fastest seed time with a mark of 12.04 in the 100-meter dash.

Multiple Skyhawks placed fourth in the Championship last year, including Alexandra Buonfiglio (Lynnfield, Massachusetts/Lynnfield) in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 11:26.91. Gaelin Farrell (Baldwinville, Massachusetts/Narragansett Regional) also took fourth in the shot put with a toss of 12.38m and is seeded in the top five this year. Freshman Shayla Lyons (Westerlo, N.Y./Bishop Maginn and Berne-Knox Westerlo) will be making her first outdoor conference championship appearance as she is in the top five in the NE10 and top freshman in the shot put throwing her best distance of 12.54m.

Colleen Perry (Weymouth, Massachusetts/Weymouth) earned points for the Skyhawks, as she placed fourth in the Heptathlon collecting 2165 points. Abby Hersom (Rockland, Maine/Oceanside) also earned points towards the Skyhawks' first-place finish, clocking in at 39.36.68 in the 10000-meter race last year. This year, she ranks in the top five with sub-40 minute seed times.

Freshman Jesica Litwa (Seymour, Massachusetts/Seymour) looks to impress the field in the hammer throw as she has tossed a personal best mark of 42.82m at the most recent Skyhawk Invitational. Litwa is also seeded in the top 10 in the discus throw with a mark of 38.98m, which she tossed at the UMass Minuteman Invitational.

Ashley Colarusso (Tewksbury, Massachusetts/Tewksbury Memorial) is currently ranked fifth among pole vault competitors with her personal best of the year of 3.10m which she hit at the UMass Minuteman Track and Field Invitational.

The Skyhawks saw the 4x800-meter relay take the 2016 and 2015 titles, as this year, Stonehill is seeded second behind Le Moyne Collge with a time of 9:48.36.
