Portland, Oregon, freshman starts spring schedule strong in 37th place

PALM CITY, Fla. (February 11, 2024) – Freshman Helen Brodahl carded a five-over-par 77 as Stonehill College got its spring season underway with first round women's golf action of the Advance Golf Partners Collegiate, hosted by the University of North Carolina Greensboro, on the 6,066-yard, par-72 layout at Hammock Creek Golf Club today.

Brodahl is tied for 37th overall out of 82 entries in the field after her first-round score which is two off her season-best in Stonehill's opening round of the spring after three and a half months off after its final tournament of the fall. She carded two birdies and ten pars over the course of her round that started on the back nine today. Brodahl was one under par after her birdie on the par-4 11th hole and then added a second birdie on the par-4 fourth that put her three-over-par at the time and was part of a one-over-par 37 on the front nine. The two birdies share the team lead after the first round as the Skyhawks posted a 333 team score and are in 14th place in the team standings – 13 strokes behind Ohio University in 13th.
